Malibu's Least Wanted: Paul Westphal

Gotta feel for Paul Westphal. Four-time NBA All-Star, one of the greatest players in the history of the Phoenix Suns, and coach of the 1993 Suns squad that went to the NBA Finals.

Fast forward to 2006 and he has just been fired from Pepperdine. I think it's safe to say he is the first coach to coach in an NBA Finals and get fired from a job in the West Coast Conference.

That tends to happen when you lose your final 8 games (unless you coach Michigan, of course).

Where does someone go from here? Do you take another step down to a conference like the SWAC or the Southland? Certainly the Suns or USC (his alma mater) would give him a PR position just to keep him off the streets. As Jon Stewart said, "It just got a little harder out here for a pimp..."
